Run to see Run All Night

Review by Melissa Keir

Liam Neeson has become the man with a gun you want on your side. In movies like the Taken series or A Walk Among the Tombstones. I give Run All Night an A.

Best friends growing up Shawn Maguire (Ed Harris) and Jimmy Conlon (Liam Neeson) lived the life of Gangsters. Shawn was a mob boss and Jimmy was his hit man. Both were family men with sons who meant the world to them. The difference is that Jimmy walked away from his family because of his shady lifestyle. When he’s forced to kill Shawn’s son, their friendship is destroyed. Now Jimmy must keep his son alive. If protecting his son isn’t enough, then he’ll return to his roots and destroy his best friend before Shawn kills Jimmy’s son.

The action is fast paced and feels like a Soprano episode. As a parent, I would do anything to protect my child. Mother bear, Tiger mom, I’m not going to let someone hurt my child. Yet there’s a moral to the story about the lifestyle. Jimmy’s son grows up with morals because Jimmy walked away, where Shawn’s son is a mess. Was it because Shawn was always there to save his son as a helicopter parent? Being a parent means letting your child fail and learn from their mistakes not protect them from all failures.

Liam’s incredible as a bad guy doing what’s right. The gun play and physical action sequences astound, even at his age. And while I do miss the more fun and carefree Liam from movies like Love Actually, at least he’s not crashing planes like Harrison Ford.

Welcome to BTR's featured World of Ink Network. Today, Wed. March 25th (6pm Eastern - 5pm Central - 4pm Mountain - 3pm Pacific) on The Families Matter show, the hosts will be chatting with author Ingrid Bencosme, a former schoolteacher, about her interactive book for children, TEETH FAIRIES.

TEETH FAIRIES is a new, interactive book and doll set celebrating a child’s tooth loss process. From the age of about 5 to 12, the average child loses twenty baby teeth. That’s a lot of visits from the Tooth Fairy! This process is an exciting and sometimes stressful time for both children and parents.

This is a fantastic tool for moms and dads to help their kids get excited about losing their teeth and wanting to take care of their dental health!

The Women's Media Center of Suleymaniyah, Iraq, has joined forces with Iraq's Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) to end this practice.

Quest for Honor follows Runak Faranj, a former teacher and tireless activist, as she works with local lawmen, journalists and members of the KRG to solve the murder of a widowed young mother, protect the victim of a safe-house shooting, eradicate honor killing and redefine honor.

WOI Special with Acclaimed Director, Alejandro Monteverde

Welcome to BTR's featured World of Ink Network. Today, Monday March 23rd (4pm Eastern - 3pm Central - 2pm Mountain - 1pm Pacific) we have Acclaimed Director Alejandro Monteverde as our guest. He will be chatting about his newest movie LITTLE BOY (starring Kevin James, Michael Rapaport, Jakob Salvati, Emily Watson, and Ali Landry, and is produced by heavyweight TV and movie producer, Mark Burnett).

Set during the height of World War II, the film centers on a little boy, Pepper Flynt Busbee (Jakob Salvati), who is willing to do whatever it takes to end World War II so that he can bring his father home. Through his struggle, Pepper learns lessons of morality, such as the value of self sacrifice, how to face the town's bullies (at times hilariously depicted), the importance of racial equality, and many lessons in between.

This heartwarming family film expertly captures feelings similar to those recognizable in so many great American movies.
