Excerpt:
HOME & FAMILY
The home is the structural foundation of the family. It is supposed to be a haven of love, and every member of the family should look forward to going home. It is where principles, morals, and values are formed. Although other segments of society influence children, such as the school, church, and social clubs, the home plays a more crucial role in their upbringing. It is where little minds are molded. It is better to have a home of
love without luxury rather than a home of luxury without love. If God gives you both, consider it a phenomenal blessing.

Author Spotlight: Tal Yanai

Stories for Children Publishing will be touring debut author Tal Yanai and his book, Life Is Not a Candy Store: It’s the Way to the Candy Store all month long in August 2011.

Tal Yanai was not happy with his reality as a child and teen. What he was creating in his life was not in alignment with what he wanted in his heart or what he knew and deeply felt was possible. As a struggling student, he was considered a troublemaker in school. In tenth grade, he was diagnosed with dyslexia, which explained his learning difficulties but it did little to ease his frustration with himself and his everyday struggles.

Then one day, during a bike trip from the kibbutz to the sea, he was asked to take charge and make sure none of the other kids lagged behind. For the first time in his life, at age fifteen, Tal got a taste of what it meant to assume responsibility and be a leader. This one experience planted the seed for his goal to assume a leadership role in his later life.

Today, Tal teaches Hebrew and Judaic Studies in Temple Beth Hillel in the San Fernando Valley as he continues his quest to explore the meaning of soul and achieve his full potential as a spiritual teacher.

In a world driven by instant gratification comes a gem of a book full of wisdom, couched in simple language and written from the heart. Life Is Not a Candy Store: It’s the Way to the Candy Store by Tal Yanai invites teens to engage in both the critical process of self-reflection and the experience of connecting with the larger world.

Yanai encourages teens to become more aware of how their actions affects themselves and others. By exposing them to the simple truths of spirituality, and the beauty and love of a higher power. Yanai hopes readers will find new direction and purpose in a world filled with instant everything.

Book Blurb: A Spiritual Guide to the Road of Life for Teens. This small book is full of wisdom of the deepest kind, couched in simple language and written from the heart. Although the content is geared toward teenagers, it will equally appeal to adults. The combination of spoken truths and humor makes it easily accessible, and encourages readers to go back and reread. Anyone living by this philosophy can do no ham and will radiate the light of gentleness, kindness and peace.

"As a pwhychologist for ten years specializing with teens, I found this book to be a great resource. It helps in explaining the existential situations youth yearn to understand in a way they can easily grasp." ~Robert S. Schwartz, L.C.S.W.
